on the following link you can view the experiments and creations that made their way upp in the air on the experimental workshop for kites and other flying objects...

Experimental workshop with Kites and other Flying Objects

Hi Birds,

We hope this summer has been good for you - this morning the first white powdered mountain tops appeared out of the clouds. With the summer holidays behind us we now head for the last weeks of "stađfugl - farfugl". Before the final farewell perfomance "the bird has flown" there is one more event on the agenda. See below...

Experimental workshop with Kites and other Flying Objects

Sunday the 31/8 from 12-16hrs an Experimental workshop with Kites and other Flying Objects will be held at Alda, Eyjafjarđarsveit. Open for all ages.

Participants will get a change to:

-          build their own kite

-          make ordinary objects fly

-          make a rocket

-          try out a variety of single and double line kites with instruction

The results will be shown and tried out near the old airfield at Melgerđismelar. For more information and registration phone +354 892 6804

George, Steini & Dísa

Look forward to seeing you for a session of "aircrobatics"...

Holiday for birds...

the bird project has now taken a small summer break and more events will be advertised from the middle of august...have a great summer! Ofcourse all the artworks are on display as before and free of charge for everyone to see...ENJOY! Until later...

wait there is more...

"Stadugl - farfugl" just got a phonecall that someone had ripped of the catalogue box from the main exhibition sign at the county limits. Destroyed the box and threw all the exhibition leaflets up in the air and over the road. Luckily a consiencious bypasser contacted us and cleaned upp the mess aswell...We hope that those responsible for this unexpected performance got something constructive out of it!

damaged goods...

262_6213.jpgThe project of Aslaug Thorlacius has now been vandalised completely.262_6216.jpg This time for some unexplained reason rather than someone looking for some extra money from return bottles. The milk cartons that were stil hanging on the plucked "birdlegs" had been removed and thrown into the nearby bushes. Is this the work of someone trying to clean up the countyside? See also Morgunbladid  http://www.mbl.is/mm/frettir/innlent/2008/06/26/vargur_kemst_i_utilistaverk_i_eyjafjardarsveit/

A little bit further into the county at the Rifkellstađir-site someone has felt the urge to tear apart one of the playschool projects. One of the garbage birds was tail and neck broken. Not a very nice message to send to the children at Idavellir in Akureyri. "Luckily" there is enough junk to fix these kind of projects. So now we have a "Red-necked trash diver" in Eyjafjardarsveit.

"Stadfugl - Farfugl" - connecting people...

Just recieved this link from Gunn Morstoel who organises the "KUNSTINATUR" art project that has been held annualy since 2002 in Norway in connection with the Fjellfestival. Her own contribution this year is - maybe not a surprise - birds made of icelandic Lopi wool.
